For the fourth year running Specsavers Opticians, are sponsoring the Specsavers Derby (Saturday 23 June), which is on the second day of the three day Down Royal Summer Festival of Racing. Specsavers is setting its sights on making this year’s Specsavers Derby a ‘spec’tacular day out for everybody with a real focus on glasses as they have become the ultimate fashion accessory.
The 14 Specsavers stores across Northern Ireland are sponsoring the Specsavers Derby at Down Royal with a prize fund of 82,500. Fashion boutique, BT9 Rio Brazil of Belfast, is Specsavers’ official fashion partner for the ‘The Look’ award, which has been introduced by Specsavers to encourage all of Northern Ireland’s fashionistas to create the perfect ‘look’ for the Specsavers Derby . The lucky winner will be presented with £750 worth of vouchers to spend at BT9 Rio Brazil and a fabulous VIP night for two at the Culloden Hotel & Spa.
Sinead Donnelly, store director, Ann Street, says: ‘The Specsavers Derby sponsorship will further associate the Specsavers brand name with quality and style as it is one of the most prestigious sporting and social events in the Northern Ireland calendar. To be in with a chance of winning ‘The Look’ at the Specsavers Derby, my top tip would be to consider wearing specs as they have become the ultimate fashion accessory.’
Mike Todd, General Manager, Down Royal, says: ‘It’s fantastic to have such a high profile and well known brand name like Specsavers sponsoring the Derby at Down Royal. The Summer Festival of Racing is a terrific social event and the Specsavers Derby on the Saturday is proving to be increasingly popular with corporate areas completely sold out.’
